Green jobs: business, government, and partners discuss potential opportunities

14/ 11/ 2025
On 11 November, a presentation was held for the project “Green Jobs for the Recovery and European Integration of Ukraine,” implemented by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) in partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the NGO “Living Planet”. The project aims to assess the potential for reintegrating Ukrainian veterans into the green labour market, which opens new opportunities for attracting foreign investment to Ukraine. The initiative is part of the Green Recovery Platform for Ukraine. During the event, representatives of the European Business Association emphasized the importance of developing green jobs as a key component of Ukraine’s sustainable recovery and EU integration. Companies are already implementing energy-efficient, renewable, and resource-saving solutions, but scaling these practices requires additional incentives and specialists with modern “green” competencies. In addition, the Association supports initiatives to reintegrate veterans into the green sector, underscoring the importance of their engagement for economic development and strengthening social resilience. The EBA thanks “Living Planet,” UNEP, and the ILO for the invitation and the meaningful dialogue. Coordinated efforts between the business community, government bodies, and international partners are essential for building an effective workforce development system and advancing innovative environmental solutions in Ukraine.
