How do industrial giants support Ukraine?

  The European Business Association continues to share stories of how its member companies support the country. And today we will tell stories of support from members of the EBA Industrial Ecology and Sustainable Development Committee. DTEK In March-April, the company supplied electricity to hospitals, the army, and bakers for UAH 32 million, donated 1,000 hemostatic turnstiles for defenders of Mykolayiv region, and allocated 69 tons of coal for Ukrzaliznytsia evacuation trains and 100 tons for local communities and social facilities. Almost 200 employees became blood donors for war victims. Interpipe Since the war, the company has raised over UAH 9 million through the Charitable Foundation Renaissance of the Region and directed the sum to the needs of the Armed Forces, territorial defense units, and the wounded and displaced persons. It also provides 728 employees of the company with the essentials – from bulletproof vests and medical turnstiles to radio sets and thermal imagers. Bayer To support the small farmers, the company plans to provide them with nearly 26,000 units of corn seeds free of cost. That will allow the sowing of more than 30,000 hectares. Besides, clothes, towels, portable chargers and other necessary items worth over UAH 300,000 were provided to patients of the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery and a hospital in Chernihiv. Bayer also donated UAH 1,6 mil to the Charitable Foundation Kharkiv with You to support the residents of Kharkiv and surrounding localities with basic needs and hygiene products. Ukrenergo On the day of its 24th anniversary, the company completed the construction of a 330 kV high-voltage line in western Ukraine, which is necessary for the further integration of Ukraines energy system into the ENTSO-E the Continental European Power System. Kronospan With the support of its European offices, Kronospan meets the civilian needs of citizens of the Mykolaiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions and provides medicines, hygiene products, food for long-term storage, clothing, and goods for children, sleeping bags, and more. DCH Steel The groups companies continue to collect things for the defenders of Ukraine and migrants, and together with the NGO Women Plus conducted trainings on first aid for the staff. Metinvest In April, the company handed over 2,700 bulletproof vests and helmets, more than 50 items and 35,000 packages of medicines, medical devices, and instruments to Kryvyi Rih, and opened a Rehabilitation & Reintegration Centre for IDPs in Zaporizhia and resumed medical oxygen shipments to Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk hospitals. GMK Center The company continues to conduct a special project dedicated to the chronicles of the military confrontation and the sanctions front. DyckerhoffCement Ukraine The company sent two trucks of humanitarian aid to Chernihiv and Trostyanets territorial communities, as well as provided assistance to the military: 500 liters of diesel fuel, 200 liters of gasoline, 30 sets of military uniforms, and 10 pairs of military footwear totaling about 80,000 hryvnias.
