EBA Woodworking and Furniture Committee held its final meeting in 2025

  Members of the European Business Association’s Woodworking and Furniture Committee summed up the results of 2025, a year that marked the Committee’s ten-year anniversary. Companies paid particular attention to the key regulatory acts adopted this year, which define the operation of the sector. In particular, the Government of Ukraine adopted the Resolution “On the Implementation of a Pilot Project for Compliance with European Union Legislation on the Prevention of Deforestation and Forest Degradation” (implementation of EU Regulation 2023/1115 EUDR). Resolution No. 1316 of 22 October 2025 unblocked the issuance of logging permits, amendments to Resolution No. 112 of 7 February 2023 “On the Approval of the Procedure for Forest Management” extended the validity of forest management materials, and Resolution No. 1399 of 31 October 2025 introduced temporary quotas on the export of unprocessed commercial and firewood timber, among other measures. Committee member companies outlined their priorities for 2026, including continuing work on the draft Law “On the Timber Market,” simplifying environmental impact assessment procedures, progressing on the EUDR regulation, and addressing other sectoral issues. Committees Manager Yurii Andriiv expressed gratitude to the Committee members for their active engagement, trust in defending business interests, and collaborative efforts to improve the business climate in the industry.
