The EBA met with the EU Special Envoy for Ukrainians, Ylva Johansson

03/ 10/ 2025
On 1 October, representatives of the European Business Association met with Ylva Johansson, former European Commissioner for Home Affairs, who has recently begun her work as the EU Special Envoy for Ukrainians. During the meeting, participants discussed issues currently of concern to many Ukrainians in the EU, as well as to those planning to return home. Among them were: employment opportunities, labour market needs, recognition of qualifications, professional training, and mobility; the role of business in creating new jobs in Ukraine, particularly for those who decide to return; potential partnerships with European companies for knowledge and experience sharing; the establishment of information centres in EU Member States to support Ukrainians. For the business community, these topics are of great importance. Every initiative that supports the professional development and wellbeing of Ukrainians brings both the reconstruction of Ukraine and the return of its people closer. The EBA is grateful to Ylva Johansson for an open dialogue and for her readiness to jointly seek solutions that will help Ukrainians feel more confident – both in the EU and in Ukraine.
