On 14 June 2017, the President of Ukraine signed the Law of Ukraine “On Environmental Impact Assessment”, abolishing the Law of Ukraine “On Ecological Expertise”. In recent years, the EBA Agrochemical Committee has repeatedly insisted on the abolition of ecological expertise for CPPs every three years after registration. The provision substantially complicated the conduction of business, as the permanent CPP registration was already valid over a 10-year period. Thus, the product had to pass ecological expertise four times during its registration period. Consequently, the Law of Ukraine “On Environmental Impact Assessment” puts an end to excessive administrative barriers for agrochemical business.
