On January 23, 2026<\/strong>, the first online meeting of the year was held by the Financial and Tax Committee of the Southern Ukrainian Office of the European Business Association<\/strong>. Traditionally, this event opens the new tax year for the business community, providing an opportunity to analyze the most important legislative changes, international taxation trends, and upcoming reforms.<\/p>\n

The meeting was moderated by Vitalii Smerdov<\/strong>, Chair of the Financial and Tax Committee of the EBA Southern Ukrainian Office, Managing Partner at First Pro Tax<\/em>, Director of the Chamber of Tax Consultants, Non-Staff Advisor to the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, and Deputy Director of the Kharkiv IT Cluster for GR Affairs.<\/p>\n

Among the speakers was Viktoriia Vlasenko<\/strong>, Attorney and Partner of the Tax Practice at First Pro Tax<\/em>, who shared practical insights on tax audit preparation and appeal procedures, as well as recommendations for minimizing risks in international taxation and currency operations.<\/p>\n

During the discussion, participants covered:<\/p>\n

  • key outcomes of 2025 CFC reporting and the State Tax Service\u2019s approach to data analysis;<\/li>\n
  • the impact of Cyprus tax reform on Ukrainian investors and ownership structures;<\/li>\n
  • new currency control rules, NBU liberalization measures, and dividend payment practices;<\/li>\n
  • expected tax policy changes in Ukraine in 2026 and business readiness for the upcoming reforms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
