She stressed:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1069\" data-end=\"1349\"><em data-start=\"1247\" data-end=\"1347\">\u201cCombating bias is not a project, but a transformation of corporate culture and people\u2019s mindset.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1351\" data-end=\"1390\">Types of bias discussed included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Affinity bias<\/strong> \u2013 the tendency to choose candidates similar to ourselves;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Halo effect<\/strong> \u2013 when one positive trait overshadows the objective assessment of other qualities;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Expectation bias \/ Pygmalion effect<\/strong> \u2013 when our attitude towards a person shapes expectations of them;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Confirmation bias<\/strong> \u2013 seeking information that supports pre-existing beliefs;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Proximity bias<\/strong> \u2013 favouring those who are physically closer to the manager;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Working time bias<\/strong> \u2013 equating longer working hours with higher productivity;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Gender bias<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cultural bias<\/strong> \u2013 such as language barriers or different communication styles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2042\" data-end=\"2338\">The meeting also focused on practical tools for implementing DEI practices in hiring, from inclusive job descriptionsand structured interviews with identical questions for all candidates, to the use of AI tools (such as Metaview, Textio, Datapeople) to ensure greater objectivity.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2042\" data-end=\"2338\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-677000 size-thumbnail alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/new.eba.com.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/qr-150x150.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/new.eba.com.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/qr-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/new.eba.com.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/qr-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/new.eba.com.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/qr-270x270.png 270w, https:\/\/new.eba.com.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/qr-130x130.png 130w, https:\/\/new.eba.com.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/qr-94x94.png 94w, https:\/\/new.eba.com.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/qr-370x370.png 370w, https:\/\/new.eba.com.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/qr-170x170.png 170w, https:\/\/new.eba.com.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/qr-120x120.png 120w, https:\/\/new.eba.com.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/qr-100x100.png 100w, https:\/\/new.eba.com.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/qr-90x90.png 90w, https:\/\/new.eba.com.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/qr-80x80.png 80w, https:\/\/new.eba.com.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/qr.png 519w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2340\" data-end=\"2672\"><em>The NGO ALL TOGETHER JOBS is currently working on practical guides for companies wishing to better understand the employment needs of veterans, including those with disabilities.
