On 17 July, the Working Group on Veteran Practices and Policies held a meeting dedicated to the reintegration of service members and veterans into corporate environments as part of broader ESG strategies.<\/p>\n

Representatives of AZOV.ONE<\/strong> shared their experience and discussed practical aspects of veteran employment with participants.<\/p>\n

Attendees noted that approximately 800,000 individuals are expected to enter the labour market following the end of their military service. This calls for a systematic and structured approach from the business community.<\/p>\n

Key Insights from the Meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n

Speakers included Hennadii Sukharnikov<\/strong>, sergeant of the 12th Azov National Guard Special Purpose Brigade, defender of Mariupol and co-owner of SABOTAGE coffee shop<\/span>, and Yana Nadolina<\/strong>, Head of Training and Employment at the Veteran Support Service of the 12th Azov Brigade.<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Real Value, Not Just PR<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The integration of veterans can be a powerful tool for strengthening an employer\u2019s brand. However, it is crucial that this does not become a mere formality or PR gesture.<\/p>\n

    • A Quality Working Environment Is a Universal Need<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Experts emphasised that a comfortable and supportive work environment for veterans benefits all employees. An inclusive corporate culture is a win for the entire team.<\/p>\n

      • Principles of Ethical Communication<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Representatives of AZOV.ONE stressed the importance of an ethical approach when interacting with veterans. Key recommendations include:<\/p>\n

        • Be human.<\/strong> Avoid pity or excessive dramatization.<\/li>\n
        • Be open.<\/strong> Discuss important matters during the interview stage to build trust and predictability.<\/li>\n
        • Allow authenticity.<\/strong> Don\u2019t impose labels or stereotypes.<\/li>\n
        • Avoid extremes.<\/strong> Neither glorify nor stigmatise veterans.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          The speakers also highlighted: a veteran is not just someone in uniform, but a person with unique experience,\u00a0one that can become a valuable asset to a company if integration is approached wisely and respectfully.<\/p>\n

          AZOV.ONE<\/strong> expressed readiness to partner with employers in the veteran reintegration process. They offer:<\/strong><\/p>\n

          • Practical training for veterans through specialised courses<\/li>\n
          • Employer consultations on veteran hiring practices<\/li>\n
          • Psychological support and guidance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
