These restrictions were introduced in January this year following an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in the country.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"489\" data-end=\"791\">According to official information from the competent German authority and the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), there are currently no recorded cases of FMD in Germany. The country has regained its status as FMD-free without vaccination, in line with the WOAH Terrestrial Animal Health Code.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"793\" data-end=\"1025\">Based on the updated epizootic situation and the relevant order issued by Ukraine\u2019s Chief State Veterinary Inspector, the previous restrictions have now been lifted. As a result, the following imports from Germany are now permitted:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1026\" data-end=\"1201\">\n<li data-start=\"1026\" data-end=\"1095\">\n<p data-start=\"1028\" data-end=\"1095\">live animals (including cattle, small ruminants, pigs, and horses);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1096\" data-end=\"1132\">\n<p data-start=\"1098\" data-end=\"1132\">genetic material (semen, embryos);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1133\" data-end=\"1201\">\n<p data-start=\"1135\" data-end=\"1201\">animal-derived products (meat, dairy products, by-products, etc.).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1203\" data-end=\"1525\">The European Business Association has closely monitored the situation and initiated dialogue with the relevant state authorities \u2014 in particular, the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy \u2014 to discuss the impact of the restrictions on food-importing companies.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1527\" data-end=\"1651\">We thank all parties for their constructive cooperation and prompt response to changes in the epizootic situation in Europe.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The European Business Association is pleased to report Ukraine\u2019s decision to lift the restrictions on the import of animals, genetic material, and animal-derived products from Germany.
