On 28 March, the Energy Club platform hosted an online meeting titled “CBAM and Ukraine\u2019s Power Sector: Challenges, Risks, and Opportunities for Integration with the EU Market.” Participants discussed the challenges and opportunities ahead, the readiness of Ukraine\u2019s emissions accounting system to meet EU requirements, and the prospects for developing transitional mechanisms or exemptions for Ukraine.<\/p>\n

The Manager of the Industrial Ecology & Sustainable Development Committee at the EBA emphasised the need to initiate direct negotiations with the European Commission on CBAM and reach an agreement on a special application framework for Ukraine.<\/p>\n
