On 15 November 2024, a meeting was held at Boryspil International Airport with representatives of the European Business Association, led by Executive Director Anna Derevyanko. The discussion focused on Ukraine\u2019s economic potential following the reopening of airspace and the resumption of air travel.<\/p>\n

Participants had the opportunity to engage in a direct dialogue, raising questions about the future of aviation in Ukraine and the role of Boryspil Airport in this process. During his speech, Oleksiy Dubrevskyi, the CEO of Boryspil Airport, shared the challenges the airport has faced in recent years. He highlighted ongoing efforts to preserve infrastructure and staff qualifications and drew attention to the current state of the aviation sector and plans to return to regular operations after airspace reopens.<\/p>\n

The CEO emphasised that, at present, there are no prerequisites for the safe operation of civilian flights in Ukraine\u2019s airspace, and the situation is unlikely to change in the near future. Nevertheless, he underlined the strategic importance and cost-effectiveness of maintaining the airport in operational readiness, compared to rebuilding infrastructure from scratch.<\/p>\n\t

We are preserving the readiness of our infrastructure and specialists so that, after the skies reopen, the aviation sector can drive business recovery, create jobs, and integrate Ukraine into the global economy.\n\t\t\t<\/blockquote>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t<\/div>\n\n

The European Business Association commended the airport\u2019s efforts to remain prepared for resuming operations.<\/p>\n\t

She also emphasised the importance of collaboration between the state and businesses to create favourable conditions for international companies operating in Ukraine.
