The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Finance, Tax, and Customs Policy, with the participation of business representatives, including the European Business Association, held its regular meeting on August 9, 2024, to review the results of the Committee\u2019s April 4, 2024 decision. This decision involved hearing reports from the leadership of the State Tax Service of Ukraine, the State Customs Service of Ukraine, the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine, and the National Police of Ukraine regarding the fight against the shadow market of excisable goods, particularly illegal production and trade of tobacco products.<\/p>\n
The work of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine to stop criminal schemes related to the production and distribution of tobacco products was positively noted.<\/p>\n
Inevitably, the most discussed topic in the business community recently \u2013 Draft Law No. 11416 on significant tax increases \u2013 was also addressed. The Association has already provided several important comments and alternative proposals to raise additional funds for the State Budget from the shadow economy.<\/p>\n
Additionally, Yaroslav Zheleznyak announced the preparation of amendments for the second reading of Draft Law 6094-d on the reform of the Customs Service of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
