This week, the Kharkiv City Council decided to exempt local businesses from taxes from April 1 to June 30, 2024. In particular, it concerns the single tax, rent, real estate and land tax.<\/p>\n
Separately, the Government adopted CMU Resolution No. 425 dated April 12, 2024, which provides for subsidies to local budgets suffering from russian aggression (de-occupied, temporarily occupied and other territories of Ukraine that have been negatively affected by the full-scale armed aggression of the russian federation).<\/p>\n
The European Business Association and, in particular, the EBA Kharkiv Office would like to thank the Government for finally hearing the voice of entrepreneurs and taking a step towards stimulating and developing business in such difficult conditions.<\/p>\n
Thus, the community has repeatedly appealed to the Prime Minister of Ukraine, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Economy of Ukraine, and the Minister of Finance of Ukraine to provide appropriate support to businesses operating in the combat-affected areas, de-occupied territories, areas contaminated with explosive ordnance, etc.<\/p>\n
At the same time, it would be appropriate to use the example of Kharkiv for other affected regions, including Odesa, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Mykolaiv, etc.<\/p>\n
However, in addition to tax exemption for entrepreneurs, the following steps are also important to support business: ensuring transparent and predictable mobilization measures, providing transparent opportunities for business travel abroad, resolving the issue of blocking tax invoices, ensuring timely VAT refunds, continuing currency liberalization, etc.<\/p>\n
