On December 13, the EBA Business Security and Protection Committee presented the results of the study “Assessment of the Security of Doing Business in Ukraine”, conducted jointly with Sayenko Kharenko and SK Security.<\/p>\n
View the presentation<\/a><\/p>\n The new wave of the 2023 Business Security Assessment details the state of the business climate in Ukraine, challenges and crises faced by businesses operating in wartime, assesses the security of infrastructure, and evaluates interaction with government and military structures.<\/p>\n The survey, which involved more than 100 respondents from various industries across Ukraine, revealed changes in business crises compared to 2020 and 2021. In 2023, the three biggest crises are directly related to a full-scale war: mobilization, hostilities, and the outflow of professional staff. The survey also notes changes in the business landscape, including the severance of business ties, relocation, and business expansion.<\/p>\n The responses of the business community in 2023 are significantly different from those of 2020 and 2021, indicating changes in the perception of the security situation. The study highly appreciates the resilience of Ukrainian business, which continues to grow and look for new ways to develop.<\/p>\n Among the key findings is a decrease in the number of companies with in-house security services in 2023 compared to 2021, which may be a result of business downsizing due to new challenges. The study also assesses the business climate in Ukraine, with 49% of respondents giving it a mostly negative assessment. The origin of capital has a limited impact on the perception of the business climate, as Ukrainian and foreign businesses assess it in the same way.<\/p>\n The Doing Business in Ukraine 2023 provides valuable information on the adaptation strategies of Ukrainian businesses in wartime, emphasizing their resilience, flexibility of response and ongoing contribution to the country’s development.
