The European Business Association sincerely welcomes the decision of the European Commission to support Ukraine\u2019s candidacy for EU membership on June 17.<\/p>\n
We are grateful to the European Commission for approving and supporting Ukraine which made its European choice in 2014 through the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU. Over the years, Ukraine has achieved a lot in harmonizing its legislation and fostering economic integration into the European area.<\/p>\n
Thus, the EBA experts have actively cooperated and continue to work with the EU representatives and the Ukrainian government to bring the regulatory legislation of Ukraine into line with EU standards. The whole business community looks forward to Ukraine being granted EU candidate status, as it will set the best framework for the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, and its further economic growth and development.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the decision still needs to be considered by the European Council at the June 23-24 Summit in Brussels. We are surely aware that candidate status is only the beginning of the journey, which marks a lot of work ahead, but it will be a new active phase of structural reforms in preparing Ukraine for further integration. Therefore, we expect from European leaders a clear political signal of solidarity with Ukraine and the approval of its candidate status as early as next week!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
