Gas infrastructure is being hit every day – resulting in holes or even complete gas pipeline rupture. The low-pressure gas pipeline of 219 mm near Sviatohirsk was damaged with ignition. One of the sections was damaged by the shelling (the shell hit three meters from the facilities) – almost all windows and some doors were broken. No one was injured. The aggression intensified on the outskirts, in the industrial zone and residential areas of one of the localities in the hot spot. During the week, workers were forced to cut off 1,612 private homes and 1,435 apartments due to damage. At the same time, gas supply was restored for 686 private houses and 1,853 apartments. Specialists of JSC “Donetskoblgaz” continue to repair previous damage and destruction, where possible.

On April 15, for the first time since russia’s full-scale invasion, Naftogaz Trading took part in natural gas trading on the Ukrainian Interbank Currency Exchange. The company has resumed cooperation with competing trading platforms, which has been suspended since the Russian attack on Ukraine. The company purchased 2 million cubic meters of gas supplied by the end of April. Namely, 1 million cubic meters will be transferred to the underground storage facility. During the week, the use of natural gas by consumers of Naftogaz Trading LLC fluctuated and eventually reached the same level as last week – up to 35.5 million cubic meters.

All digital services of Naftogaz Ukraine Gas Supply Company LLC are fully available. The contact center accepts calls from household customers from all over Ukraine around the clock. As a result, about 14,000 calls were processed during the week. The company is grateful to all its customers who continue to pay their gas bills.

Naftogaz Teplo LLC (Novoyarivsk and Novorozdilsk CHPs, Lviv Region) operates as usual in compliance with martial law although night air sirens have increased this week. All consumers receive heat and hot water. The Novorozdilsk Grids and the Novoyavorivsk Grids operate stably. All residents of Novyi Rozdil, Novoyavorivsk, and nearby localities are provided with electricity.

Ukrtransgaz underground storages remain under high security and continue to operate as usual.

JSC Ukrgazvydobuvannya continues to steadily produce gas at all its facilities, except for those near the line of contact.

JSC Ukrtransnafta continues to ensure the stable operation of Ukraine’s oil transportation system.

JSC Ukrspetstransgaz operates on a full-time basis under martial law.

Shebelinsky refinery (Kharkiv region) is closed for a month and a half.

OJSC Kyrovogradgaz operates normally.

Electricity

During the week, DTEK Grids emergency crews are actively returning light to the residents. In total, the light was returned to 148 thousand households affected by the fighting in the Kyiv and Donetsk regions.

Thus, DTEK restored electricity supply in 156 localities of the Kyiv region. On a daily basis, power engineers inspected the lines in these towns and villages and gradually repaired the electrical infrastructure. The light was returned to 100,954 homes, as well as important infrastructure: hospitals in Brovary and Irpin, water canals in Bucha, Brovary, and Ivankov, a bread baking and brick factories in Ivankov, a fire station in Bucha, a gas distribution station in the village of Ploske, Brovary district. Unfortunately, the situation has worsened again due to airstrikes by attackers and missiles hitting the infrastructure of localities. Therefore, emergency crews have to re-repair grids in cities and villages where restoration work has previously taken place. Namely, for almost 26 thousand families in the city of Brovary. Power engineers from Kyiv, Odesa, and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts are helping to restore light to the residents of the Kyiv region. The plan is to return the light to all residents of the Kyiv region by June 1.

The difficult situation with the power supply persists in the Donetsk region. The most difficult directions are Avdiivsky, Maryinsky, Toretsky, and Velykonovosilkivsky. Here, due to active hostilities, power grids and substations regularly get damaged. DTEK’s power engineers of Donetsk are able to repair the lines only after the Armed Forces issues a permit that it is safe to work. Over the past week, the electricity supply was partially restored in 72 localities of the Donetsk region (nearly 24,252 households).

Natural gas

258,468 consumers remain without gas supply as of April 18.
