On October 21, the European Business Association held a working meeting with Jana Herceg, Head of Trade and Economic Section of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine and her team. During the meeting, the parties discussed the most important issues for business in the context of simplifying trade barriers between Ukraine and the EU.<\/p>\n

Thus, the business community expressed its support for the need to sign the ACAA Agreement on the so-called “industrial visa-free regime” between Ukraine and the EU. Also, business representatives stressed the importance of gradually expanding the ACAA Agreement to new sectors, including radio equipment, energy labeling, eco-design, and medical devices, as well as GMP certificates for pharmaceutical products.<\/p>\n

The discussion was focused on the lack of road transport permits to Poland, problems with the harmonization of international veterinary certificates, problems with the registration of feed additives, and the importance of adopting the EU-equivalent system of registration of feed additives in Ukraine. The participants also mentioned the implementation of the Law on Veterinary Medicine. Besides, there was a discussion on the results of the Ukraine-EU summit in the context of updating the annexes to the Association Agreement: Environment and Climate Change, as well as preparations for the introduction of CBAM and the launch of the market for private phytosanitary laboratories.<\/p>\n

Special attention was also paid to cooperation between Ukraine and the EU in the pharmaceutical field, including the state of protection of intellectual property rights, data exclusivity, implementation of drug verification, draft Law \u21165547 on Medicinal Products, and other important issues for the industry.<\/p>\n
