On April 13, the European Business Association IT Committee and the Ministry of Digital Transformation signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Collaboration to unite efforts in developing IT education in Ukraine, which in the future will have a positive impact on the industry as a whole.<\/span><\/p>\n\t

\n\t\t\t\tGiven the risks of unemployment caused by the crisis, it is important to provide people with more opportunities in the field of digitalization and IT, so they can try themselves in the creative and high-tech fields. Therefore, the main task for us right now is to establish a partnership between the authorities and business representatives so that joint initiatives keep pace with the times and the real market demand for specialists. And time, in turn, requires the development of digital skills.\n\t\t\t<\/blockquote>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t<\/div>\n\n

\u00a0<\/span>Thus, the pilot project proposed<\/strong> by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the State Employment Center of Ukraine has already started. The project aimed at helping people to evaluate their potential as an IT specialist, to choose and get a relevant specialization and land a job further. More information can be found\u00a0on the website<\/a>\u00a0of the Ministry of Digital Transformation.<\/span><\/p>\n

In general, the project includes several phases: the Pathfinder test, the aptitude test assessing the candidate’s potential. The most successful participants will have the opportunity to continue their studies in the IT academies, namely at the EBA IT Committee Member Companies who are willing to participate in the project. The Pathfinder test is already available on the State Employment Center website\u00a0via the link<\/a>. It will help people to choose a profession in a promising field: based on information provided by a person, Pathfinder\u2019s artificial intelligence selects the most relevant profession from the list of IT-activities.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\tThe world will be different after spring 2020. Approaches to doing business are changing as well as employment. Therefore, such joint initiatives between business and government will create a labor market that meets the challenges of today and encourages people to learn and enter new professions in order to realize their potential and develop national innovative industries.\n\t\t\t<\/blockquote>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t<\/div>\n<\/span><\/p>\n

For your information, as of early 2020, the number of IT vacancies (annually) has increased by 40 thousand. Despite the global crisis that will inevitably affect the growth of the industry, the shortage of skilled workers will still remain in the long run.<\/p>\n

If the pilot project is proved to be successful, EBA and the Ministry of Digital Transformation will scale the project nationwide starting from September this year.<\/span><\/p>\n

  • ensuring equal conditions and opportunities for accessing quality IT education for all categories of the population;<\/span><\/li>\n
  • facilitating the conditions for lifelong learning;<\/span><\/li>\n
  • enhancing Ukraine’s status as an innovative digital country;<\/span><\/li>\n
