On 12\u201314 November, the Coordinator of the Chemical Safety Subcommittee of the European Business Association took part in the session \u201cREACH UA and CLP UA: Implementation Stages and Challenges\u201d, held within the international conferences \u201cPaint Forum UA 2025\u201d and \u201cDryMix Forum UA 2025\u201d, organized by the information and analytics agency Chem-Courier.<\/p>\n

In her presentation, the EBA\u2019s representative expressed support for the initiative of the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine to postpone the implementation of the requirements of the Technical Regulation on Chemical Product Safety (REACH) and the Technical Regulation on the Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Chemical Products (CLP).<\/p>\n

The implementation of European chemical safety standards must take into account the challenges businesses are currently facing. Moreover, in this context, it is essential to secure the support of, and closely cooperate with, the main regulator during the further harmonisation of technical regulations with EU norms.<\/p>\n

The business community understands that postponement is only the first step toward further improvement and updating of regulatory requirements, as well as toward developing effective implementation mechanisms and practical simplifications. Given this, it is crucial to establish joint working groups involving business representatives, the relevant ministry and chemical safety experts.<\/p>\n

During the session, business representatives had the opportunity to raise important questions and explore practical ways to adapt to the new regulatory requirements. Particular attention was given to the pre-registration procedure under the REACH Technical Regulation, the introduction of a simplified registration procedure, and the overall concept of consortium work, among other topics.<\/p>\n
