russia has carried out more than 600 attacks on Ukraine\u2019s energy system between 2022 and the first half of 2025 \u2014 and continues to do so. Ukrainian companies are doing everything possible to stay connected to the grid and create backup power sources. Access to electricity has become a matter of business survival.<\/span><\/p>\n

Between June and September 2025, the visual communications agency <\/span>Top Lead<\/span><\/a>, in partnership with <\/span>Raiffeisen Bank Ukraine<\/span><\/a> and supported by <\/span>Forbes BrandVoice<\/span><\/a>, conducted a large-scale survey of Ukrainian companies on how they are strengthening their energy efficiency and independence.<\/span><\/p>\n

The results were presented in the infographic report <\/span>\u201cEnergy Shift\u201d<\/span><\/a> and showcased at the <\/span>Forbes conference \u201cEnergy of Business.\u201d<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Impact of Strikes on Energy Infrastructure<\/strong><\/h4>\n

76% of Ukrainian companies have been affected by power outages \u2014 with industrial businesses suffering the most.<\/span><\/p>\n

Steps Toward Energy Independence and Efficiency<\/strong><\/h4>\n

95% of companies are implementing solutions to use energy more efficiently or become energy independent.<\/span><\/p>\n

Moreover, 44% of businesses began their energy transformation even before the full-scale invasion.<\/span><\/p>\n

The most widespread steps include installing backup power sources (74%), switching to LED lighting (60%), and setting up own generation facilities (59%).<\/span><\/p>\n

Self-Generation as a Trend<\/strong><\/h4>\n

59% of companies have installed their own generation facilities \u2014 with solar panels and power plants being the most popular solutions.<\/span><\/p>\n

97% of companies that installed generation facilities use the electricity they produce for their own needs.<\/span><\/p>\n

40% sell or plan to sell part of it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Results of the Shift<\/strong><\/h4>\n

68% of companies have reduced their energy costs. The main factors behind this are installing own generation facilities, using energy-efficient equipment, and modernizing production processes.<\/span><\/p>\n

The high cost of technologies is the biggest obstacle to energy transformation \u2014 noted by 49% of survey participants. More than a quarter believe that the lack of government support is also a problem.<\/span><\/p>\n

94% of companies are financing their transformation with their own funds, while only 5% have received government support.<\/span><\/p>\n
