Sayenko Kharenko acted as Ukrainian legal counsel to the International Finance Corporation (IFC) on the new risk-sharing facility for Credit Agricole, one of the largest privately-owned banks in Ukraine. IFC will share half the risk on an aggregate portfolio of EUR 100 million to be used to expand lending to mid-sized and larger corporates (midcaps) across various sectors such as agribusiness, manufacturing, energy, and logistics and support Ukraine\u2019s energy security.<\/p>\n
Approximately thirty percent of the financing is expected to finance small-scale renewable energy generation, climate smart agriculture and energy efficiency projects. The initiative is supported by contributions from the Government of France and the United Kingdom\u2019s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, and is part of IFC\u2019s Economic Resilience Action (ERA) Program for Ukraine, which aims to enable over USD\u00a01 billion in financing for smaller businesses and midcaps and to support employment.<\/p>\n
IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, is the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in emerging markets. In fiscal year 2025, IFC committed a record USD 71 billion to private companies and financial institutions in developing countries.<\/p>\n
