On 7 July 2025, East Europe Foundation participated in the official presentation of Veteran Pro in Kyiv \u2013 a new digital space within the Diia mobile application. This platform was created to provide simple, fast, and barrier-free access to a range of state services for veterans, eliminating queues, paperwork, and unnecessary steps.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event was attended by veterans, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, Vice Prime Minister for Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technology \u2014 Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Nataliia Kalmykova, as well as representatives of the Diia team and international partners.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As emphasized during the presentation, the creation of Veteran Pro is the state\u2019s duty to make interaction with Ukraine\u2019s defenders as convenient and dignified as possible, avoiding unnecessary bureaucracy. At launch, Veteran Pro already offers important services such as searching for and evaluating a support specialist for war veterans and demobilized persons, veteran sports services (application for 1500 hryvnia for sports activities), eOselia, eRecovery, establishing the status of a person with a disability caused by war, and submitting a subsidy application.<\/span><\/p>\n

Further expansion of the Veteran Pro platform is planned, including the addition of new services and improved interaction, taking into account feedback from veterans.<\/span><\/p>\n

Support for the development of the digital service for finding veteran support specialists is provided by the \u201cDigitalization for Growth, Integrity and Transparency\u201d (UK DIGIT) project, implemented by Eurasia Foundation and funded by UK Dev. East Europe Foundation is the project partner.<\/span><\/p>\n

This service allows veterans to find specialists by region who can provide them with necessary support \u2014 psychological, legal, social, or informational.<\/span><\/p>\n

How this service works:<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Veterans access Diia, where a list of support specialists already working in state or public institutions is displayed.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Using a filter, users can find a support specialist in their specific locality.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Key data is displayed: full name, contacts, organization \u2014 for further communication with a specific specialist.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
