For instance, in the Kyiv region, out of 29,000 damaged or destroyed facilities, around 20,000 have already been restored. Particular attention is also being given to the recovery of frontline regions \u2014 especially in terms of communications and transport logistics.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"877\" data-end=\"1267\">A Centralized Procurement Organization (CPO) has recently been established within the Agency. While competitions for staff appointments are still ongoing, tender work is already underway. Through the CPO, services and works will be procured \u2014 tenders will take place via Prozorro Market, including among international contractors. This is expected to significantly accelerate all processes.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1269\" data-end=\"1312\"><strong>Other key priorities of the Agency include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1316\" data-end=\"1676\">Shelters for frontline communities. Focus is placed on shelters in schools, kindergartens, and municipal facilities. Some 160 frontline communities require around 3,200 shelters. Since constructing standard shelters is expensive and time-consuming, the Agency is exploring an alternative \u2014 modular shelters, which are more affordable and faster to install.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1680\" data-end=\"1950\">Biofuel CHP projects. Public-private partnership projects for the construction of biofuel-powered combined heat and power (CHP) plants will be implemented in seven communities, in cooperation with international partners. Ukraine requires at least 30 such CHP plants.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1954\" data-end=\"2009\">Replacement of street lighting with LED technology.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2013\" data-end=\"2082\">Construction of solar power stations for critical infrastructure.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2086\" data-end=\"2148\">Restoration of water supply to Mykolaiv and other regions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2150\" data-end=\"2311\">The Agency is also preparing a number of projects to be presented at this year\u2019s Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC), including solutions for modular shelters.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2313\" data-end=\"2640\">It was also agreed that the Association will share its developments on business support in frontline regions with the Agency and will propose candidates from the Association to join expert groups formed by the Agency for more in-depth project analysis in the areas of water, road infrastructure, energy, and civil construction.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2642\" data-end=\"2823\">The business community expressed its gratitude for the specific examples provided, the openness to dialogue, and confirmed its readiness to support Ukraine\u2019s reconstruction process.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On May 9, a working meeting of the Committee on Ukraine\u2019s Reconstruction was held with Serhii Sukhomlyn, Head of the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine.
