Ukraine\u2019s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy launched Mriia, an educational ecosystem that will improve learning and help students achieve their academic goals.<\/span><\/p>\n

On September 2, the President of Ukraine, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, and the Ministry of Education and Science presented the unique Mriia platform and app at the educational forum \u00abCreating the Future Together\u00bb held in Zaporizhzhia. For the first time this year, selected Ukrainian schools are beginning the educational process in this innovative ecosystem!<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy<\/strong>, who initiated the Mriia a year ago, delivered a welcoming speech.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00abLast year, we announced the development of an app to revolutionize Ukrainian school education,\u00bb<\/em> said President Zelenskyy. \u00abAn app that can give children the most positive experience at school. This will be a game-changer for parents, who will now have the chance to gain the maximum understanding of what is happening at school. And it can give teachers the maximum freedom to build effective teaching.\u00bb<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The pilot project will involve 40 schools from Kyiv and six regions \u2013 Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kyiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Dnipro. This means 100,000 Ukrainians who will work with the app and provide feedback. This year, every school can join the Mriia project. To do this, just fill out the online form.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00abFor five years now, the Ministry of Digital Transformation team and I have been building a digital state,\u00bb<\/em> said Mykhailo Fedorov, Vice Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine<\/strong>, during the forum. \u00abFirst, we created Diia, which has already changed the interaction of people and businesses with the state. Now, we are building the educational Mriia, a strategic solution that will help Ukrainians develop as a nation. And it will create better conditions for self-realization.\u00bb<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Children and parents now have access to a daily planner, homework and progress reports, learning outcomes, Mriia ID, a library of content for comprehensive development, and safe chats based on Signal.<\/span><\/p>\n

Schools and teachers will use an automatic scheduler, curriculum, and journals. There are even electronic pencil and dot assessments are available.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00abThe teacher plays a major role in each student\u2019s self-realization, and the school is a core component in the educational process,\u00bb<\/em> said Oksen Lisovyi, Minister of Education and Science.<\/strong> \u00abThat is why we need to create all the conditions to remove unnecessary bureaucracy and let teachers do what they do best: teach and develop children. From now on, they can generate schedules automatically, assign grades, create curricula and schedules, and work more efficiently with Mriia.\u00bb<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Mriia will appear not only in schools. The Ministry of Digital Transformation and Ministry of Education teams have already started working on implementing the app in out-of-school, preschool, higher education, and vocational education.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00abMriia will help parents better understand their children: their interests, talents, and strengths, to support them on the path to their dreams,\u00bb<\/em> said Victor Liakh, President of East Europe Foundation.<\/strong> \u00abFor educators, Mriia is an opportunity to get rid of paperwork and save time for the most important thing \u2013 children. And, most importantly, Mriia for schoolchildren is a new approach to learning, when it often turns from a complex process into an exciting journey.\u00bb<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Andreas Huber, Director of Cooperation at the Embassy of Switzerland<\/strong>, also spoke at the forum. For more than 10 years, Switzerland has been actively supporting digital projects in Ukraine, including Mriia.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00abSwitzerland has always stood side by side with Ukraine on its path to development and prosperity,\u00bb<\/em> said Mr. Huber. \u00abEducation is one of the most important areas we actively support. Over the years, through various initiatives, we have been helping to reform education, develop effective governance in this sector, and digitize it. The Mriia application, developed with the support of the EGAP Program implemented by East Europe Foundation with funding from Switzerland, has excellent potential to become a flagship of innovation in the Ukrainian education system. I am confident that this case will serve as a model for the experience of other countries as well.\u00bb<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Mriia is an initiative of Ukraine\u2019s President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
