The Head of the Dairy Committee of the Association participated in a meeting of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy on the development priorities of the dairy sector, chaired by the Minister of Agrarian Policy, Vitaliy Koval<\/strong>. The meeting was also attended by the First Deputy Minister Taras Vysotsky<\/strong> and the Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection, Serhiy Tkachuk<\/strong>.<\/p>\n During the meeting, it was noted that the growth of the livestock sector, particularly the production and processing of milk, is an important area for the development of the agricultural sector. “For this, continuous dialogue between the government and entrepreneurs is necessary. To understand the industry’s challenges, jointly determine development priorities, and shape state support policies. Therefore, it is essential to develop deep processing and the production of value-added dairy products,”<\/em> emphasized Vitaliy Koval.<\/p>\n The Minister highlighted that to make the dairy industry successful, attention must be focused on several key areas for the development of the agricultural sector, including:<\/p>\n \u25aa\ufe0f European integration processes. Adapting to EU requirements will improve the quality and safety of milk and dairy products and make them more competitive. Agricultural businesses must actively engage in studying European norms and standards in the dairy sector.<\/p>\n \u25aa\ufe0f Opening new export markets. The EU market is one of the closest major markets for Ukraine, but there is a need to expand market opportunities.<\/p>\n \u25aa\ufe0f Support for agricultural businesses in frontline areas.<\/p>\n \u25aa\ufe0f Deep processing and the transition to an agro-industrial country.<\/p>\n \u25aa\ufe0f Irrigation. This year, due to drought, the harvest of late crops is expected to decrease by about 15%.
