In our turbulent times, it is especially important to know how to protect oneself, safeguard others, and act most effectively in stressful and critical situations, particularly for women. That\u2019s why on August 20, 2024, the Southern Ukrainian Office of the European Business Association, in partnership with the national security operator “Center,” held a relevant women’s self-defense workshop.<\/p>\n

Among the special guests and speakers were:<\/p>\n

Olha Deminnikova<\/strong> – Head of the Psychological Service of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in the Odesa region, a lieutenant colonel in the civil protection service, who shared a special self-regulation technique called \u201c4 Elements,\u201d which includes breathing exercises, grounding, and focusing attention on certain objects.<\/p>\n

Diana Yakovleva<\/strong> – Head of the Ukrainian Bar Association\u2019s branch in the Odesa region and Ukrainian boxing champion, who highlighted the legal consequences of self-defense.<\/p>\n

Oleksandra Nikitina<\/strong> – Women’s self-defense expert and HR Director at AB “Center,” who demonstrated practical and effective self-defense techniques and discussed commonly accepted self-defense tools that can even be found in one\u2019s own handbag.<\/p>\n

During the workshop, participants learned about the psychology of self-defense and self-regulation, the main principles and practical advice on self-defense in street situations (situation assessment and legal aspects), defensive and offensive moves using different distances, the anatomy of vulnerability, and the use of pressure points in self-defense.<\/p>\n

We hope that after this comprehensive excursion into the world of self-defense, our women will feel more confident and secure!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
