On December 6, 2023, during a joint online meeting, EBA Odesa and ESG Hub <\/b>discussed the urgent and socially responsible topic “How Ukrainian business helps to form a democratic society and change the cities\u2019 appearance”. Ukrainian entrepreneurs are not only accustomed to the role of leaders, but now they also actively support Ukrainian resistance forces by all means, while simultaneously continuing to build a national-scale service that is rapidly gaining recognition beyond the country’s borders. Companies and brands organize charitable events and initiatives to assist those affected by the war, collect, and allocate funds to support Ukrainian defenders, and implement innovative projects.<\/p>\n
In recent years, more and more companies joined CSR, and since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, this direction has acquired a new meaning. There has been a big shift and companies have started to take a conscious approach to sustainable development. And following the values of CSR means being a conscious business that cares about employees, helps the community and contributes to the common victory. Today, EBA member company RDS <\/b>shared one of its own CSR project with us.<\/p>\n
“Nashe Place” is a project by RDS signifies a social endeavor by the company, aimed at revitalizing public spaces that have been neglected or affected by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Its goal is not only to not only to craft exceptional public spaces in alignment with leading global standards, but also to actively contribute to the establishment of community connections and relationships. Together with the community, the team has identified key principles for future renovation projects and developed the park\u2019s inclusive zoning plan. The vision creation process involved several steps that helped the community establish new horizontal connections, initiate their own projects, and learn to consider the needs of other participants.<\/p>\n

Alina Onika <\/b>– RDS Communications Director. Supervises the “Nashe Place” project and is responsible for relations with the authorities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Yuriy Granovsky <\/b>– Facilitator, designer, urban planner, co-founder of “Agents of Change”, “Public Platform” and “Peremebli”. In the project “Nashe Place” is responsible for the involvement of the community and the formation of a strong community.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Andriy Batin <\/b>– Designer, urbanist, co-founder of “Agents of Change”, “Peremebli”, “Holabuda”. In the “Nashe Place” project, he is responsible for planning tactical interventions and designing structures for these activities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n And also, to the moderator of the meeting, Aliona Onyshchenko,<\/b> the operational leader of the \u00abDyhay\u00bb Charitable Fund, the Chairman of ESG Hub.<\/p>\n Summarizing the meeting, such an initiative emphasizes the importance of partnership between business and the community in the context of socially responsible projects and contributes to the sustainable development of Ukrainian society.
