The experts discussed the legal status of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies in different countries around the world, as well as the new MiCA directive regulations. In most countries, cryptocurrencies are legislatively classified as electronic money, securities, or utility tokens.<\/p>\n

In Ukraine, there is a law called “On Virtual Assets” that has not yet come into force and is still being revised. Until the law comes into effect, we are guided by the provisions of the “On Prevention of Legalization of Proceeds from Crime” law, according to which cryptocurrency is a form of expressing value as an intangible asset.<\/p>\n
