BRUSSELS, 11 April 2023<\/span><\/strong>: BDO has announced that effective immediately, Zara Hovhannisyan, BDO\u2019s Head of Legal will become the new Global General Counsel.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n The fast pace of change, a complex business environment, increased regulatory pressures and our uncompromising commitment to quality have increased the need to ensure dedicated leadership positions.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Pat Kramer, CEO BDO Global, adds:\u00a0\u201cIn recent years, BDO has grown considerably. To further protect and strengthen BDO\u2019s reputation, dedicated Global Leadership is required to drive the\u00a0global legal, risk & compliance and quality agendas respectively. I\u2019m thrilled that Zara has accepted to take up the role of Global General Counsel, which is an important role within our Global Leadership Team.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Commenting on her appointment, Zara says:\u00a0\u201cI am delighted to be taking up the role of the Global General Counsel and joining the Global Leadership Team. In this new role, I will continue to support the Global CEO and Global Board and will continue to work very closely with my colleagues on the Global Leadership Team.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n About Zara Hovhannisyan<\/span><\/u><\/b><\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Prior to becoming BDO\u2019s Global Head of Legal in 2021, Zara Hovhannisyan was the Deputy Head of Legal and Privacy Officer since 2019.\u00a0Zara has been with BDO\u2019s Global Office since 2013, gradually building her career and in-depth expertise.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n She holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) in International Corporate & Economic Law, University of Kent. Zara is a member of the Belgian Institute of In-house Counsels and a certified privacy professional. She speaks English, Armenian, Russian, French and Portuguese which is another reason she is so passionate about BDO and its global outreach.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
