The logistics of exporting Ukrainian goods, which previously relied heavily on sea transportation, has shifted towards transportation via roadways.

European countries and the European Union have become the main market for Ukrainian goods. In fact, this direction has been and remains key, as not only Ukrainian producers’ products but the entire country as a whole should move in this direction. Due to special EU privileges for Ukrainian businesses, such as the abolition of all duties, accession to the common transit system (NCTS), and the conclusion of an agreement on the abolition of transportation permits, more than 10,000 local companies are fully able to fulfill export orders.

The current diversification of logistics routes has not only expanded overland transport corridors but also increased exports to the EU. According to MEU statistics, prior to the large-scale invasion of Ukraine, the share of exports to the EU was about 41%, while in 2022 it increased to 63%. Ukrainian goods are most actively shipped to Poland (24%), Romania (14%), Hungary and Germany (8% each), Italy and Spain (5% each).

In summary, logistics, or more precisely, the capabilities of logistics operators, remain the key limiting factor. Unfortunately, not all players in the transport market have been able to quickly adapt to the current changes and reformat their operational activities to meet the current needs of Ukrainian clients. Limited transport geography in Europe, insufficient vehicles with a certain load capacity, high risks of loss or damage to goods during transportation, and high costs of road delivery have led to a hopeless situation for Ukrainian suppliers. There are situations when there is an urgent need to deliver samples or small batches of goods to Europe, but there is no assurance that the cargo will reach its destination at an affordable transportation cost.

Logistic providers, who are focused on preserving the Ukrainian economy and the rapid economic recovery of the country, must quickly adapt and adjust to current conditions.

With more than 20 years of experience in organizing international freight transportation, a developed network of offices and over 250 terminals in all European countries, DSV in Ukraine expands its service portfolio and provides standardized European service for Export of Groupage Cargoes.

“We know exactly what our startup, manufacturer or distributor needs. That’s why, in addition to picking up cargo from the shipper’s door, arranging T1 in Europe, and delivering to the recipient’s door in any European country, we have taken into account customs clearance of goods for export exclusively at DSV terminals. The maximum time we allocate for loading is only 30 minutes because we value our clients’ time and take responsibility for the cargo entrusted to us. Daily linehauls between European warehouses, regular transportation from Ukraine to Europe, fixed rates, and a personal manager – this is the minimum we can offer.”

For the most profitable and optimal delivery of consolidated shipments, we have taken into account the maximum criteria for cargo: up to 4 Euro pallets or 1.6 LDM with a weight of up to 3000 kg, 240x120x220 cm and up to 1000 kg per unit,” said the press service of the Road Department in DSV Ukraine.

On the occasion of the launch of the service, a special offer is available for the transportation of consolidated shipments from Ukraine to Poland, Germany, and Italy for applications submitted until May 30, 2023.

Would you like to learn more?
