Kernel is increasing Ukraine\u2019s export capacity by developing its river terminal in Reni in cooperation with the International Technical Assistance Project \u201cEconomic Resilience Activity\u201d funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).\u00a0The parties signed a Memorandum of Partnership.<\/p>\n
The project also involves Nibulon and Grain Alliance, which will develop export logistics at river terminals in Izmail (Ukraine) and \u010cierna nad Tisou (Slovakia). Total investments in the development of Ukraine\u2019s export logistics will amount to over USD\u00a044 million.<\/p>\n
USD\u00a08 million will be received from the USAID and more than USD\u00a036 million from three Ukrainian business partners. \u00a0The joint financing is expected to increase grain transportation capacity by 3.35\u00a0million tons per year.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe appreciate the support our partners provide to Ukrainian agribusiness in these difficult times.\u00a0Due to international cooperation, we have more opportunities to develop river logistics.\u00a0We are honoured to be the USAID\u2019s partners in this Activity, as it is not only about strengthening Ukraine\u2019s export potential, but also about ensuring global food security,\u201d<\/em> Yevhen Osypov, CEO of Kernel<\/strong>, emphasized.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Kernel acquired an asset in the port of Reni on the Danube River in 2022 to transship sunflower oil and meal.\u00a0To make exports by river more efficient, the Company has already invested in barges, short-sea vessels and convenient vehicles to transport grain and oil.\u00a0The additional investment in access to berths will increase the volume by 600,000\u00a0tons per year.
