Too often, in search of breaking news, free media picks up unverified pieces of information and, dramatizing and increasing its influence, creates even non-existent crises that can have catastrophic consequences. For example, during our crisis communication webinar, we discussed the challenges that companies may face in a war time.<\/p>\n

Crisis communications expert Oleksandr Ravchev<\/strong> advised trying to anticipate anything that could go wrong. For every possible crisis, consider all the ways to influence your business. Identify stakeholders and develop key messages. Once you’ve listed the likely crises your company may face, think about who might be affected and what they should be told. Then create key messages for each of these audiences and determine what types of communication tools you will use to spread these messages (email, media, company website, social media).<\/p>\n

It is very important to be honest and transparent in communication, to spread messages accurately and in a timely manner to all audiences – be it board members, employees, stakeholders, suppliers or customers – showing compassion and sincerity.<\/p>\n
