The money will be used to set up four Blue Dot <\/span><span lang=\"UK\">centres<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"> in border areas, capable of supporting 3,000 to 5,000 women and children daily, offering shelter <\/span><span lang=\"UK\">and <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">practical and psychological assistance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>On March 9, together with UNICEF, a separate page was created for CRH employees, where anyone can transfer funds to support Ukraine, and CRH, for its part, will double the amount of donations from workers. In just five days, our colleagues\u00a0<span lang=\"UK\">worldwide\u00a0<\/span>transferred $ 150,000, and as promised, CRH doubled that amount, transferring an additional $ 150,000<span lang=\"UK\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Employee support<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>On the first day of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, all our employees in Kyiv and Odesa were asked to evacuate with their families to the city of Kamyanets-Podilsky. Employees were accommodated in the city\u2019s hotel rooms and apartments provided by colleagues from the Kamyanets-Podilsky Cement Plant. Subsequently, a program was introduced to evacuate employees and their families &#8211; wives, children, parents &#8211; to the countries of our cluster &#8211; Poland, Romania and Slovakia. It provides transfers, accommodation and financial assistance. Additionally, food, corporate SIM cards for local mobile operators, and health insurance are provided depending on the country.<\/p>\n<p>The Stay Up 2 project was launched on March 31 at CRH. The project covers plant improvements, industrial projects and feasibility studies, business process improvement, and training. The management of each functional team independently determined the list of tasks within the project. More than 40 training for staff is planned by the end of June. Also, within the project, English language courses were introduced for everyone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Charity<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our companies actively cooperate with the authorities, volunteers, medical institutions, refugee reception centres and territorial defence in our cities. During the two months of the war, Podilsky Cement JSC provided humanitarian aid and equipment to the Territorial Defense, Kamyanets-Podilsky City Council, Humenets Village Council, the State Emergency Service, the police, the Legend of Podillya volunteer organisation and the refugee accommodation centre. Traditionally, the company supports medical institutions, provided cement for the Khmelnytsky Regional Hospital and medicines for the district hospital. PJSC Mykolayivcement handed over a diesel generator to the National Police Department in Mykolayiv. Odessa Cement Plant continues to support the products of the elderly who live near the plant. The company provided cement for the construction of protective structures and calibrated cement for the city&#8217;s military units. Office equipment was purchased for the fire department of the Suvorov district.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the first days of the war, our staff created a group of volunteers on their initiative. There are 127 employees at the head office and factories, 15% of the company&#8217;s staff in Ukraine. Some have worked with variousorganisations to identify needs and process applications; some are involved in procurement in Ukraine, some work with foreign partners and suppliers, and some provide transportation, unloading, sorting and delivery of aid.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We are supported by colleagues and volunteers from all over the world. During the two months of the war, we received two cars with humanitarian aid and medicine from volunteers from Poland. Thanks to cooperation with Romanian colleagues and local volunteers, one <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">vehicle of humanitarian assistance<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">treatment<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">seven<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">boxes of automatic injection systems were sent to the Kamyanets-Podilsky Military Hospital. The families of the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ex-pats<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">organised<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a fundraiser, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">purchasing<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">delivering<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> two parcels with humanitarian aid and medicines from Austria.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cooperation with UNICEF On March 8, the CRH donated \u20ac 1 million to UNICEF to provide humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.
