{"id":776121,"date":"2021-10-19T13:03:36","date_gmt":"2021-10-19T10:03:36","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2021-10-19T13:09:43","modified_gmt":"2021-10-19T10:09:43","slug":"coca-cola-hbc-zobov-yazuyetsya-dosyagty-vugletsevoyi-nejtralnosti-do-2040-roku","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.eba.com.ua\/en\/coca-cola-hbc-zobov-yazuyetsya-dosyagty-vugletsevoyi-nejtralnosti-do-2040-roku\/","title":{"rendered":"Coca-Cola HBC Commits to Net Zero Emissions by 2040"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Coca-Cola HBC announced a commitment to\u202fachieving net zero\u202femissions across its entire value chain by 2040.<\/p>\n<p>Via an existing, approved science-based target, by 2030 the company will reduce its value chain emissions in scopes 1,2 and 3 by 25%, with a further 50% reduction in the following decade.\u00a0 To address the 90% of emissions in scope 3 resulting from third party actions, CCH will broaden its existing partnership approach with suppliers.\u00a0 Wherever emissions cannot be eliminated entirely, the business will mitigate these by investing in other climate protection measures.<\/p>\n\t<div class=\"img-with-caption img-with-caption--speaker img-left animate-block animate-block--before\">\n\t\t<div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/new.eba.com.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Zoran-Bogdanovic_CEO_CCHBC-e1634637912901.jpg\">\n\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n<p>Commenting on the announcement, <strong>Zoran Bogdanovic CEO of Coca-Cola HBC<\/strong> said,<em> \u201cThis commitment is the ultimate destination of a journey that we started many years ago. It is fully aligned with our philosophy to support the socio-economic development of our communities and to make a more positive environmental impact.\u00a0 Both are\u202fintegral to our future growth. Although we don\u2019t yet have all the answers, our plan, track record and partnership approach give us confidence that we will deliver\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>A Robust Plan <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To achieve its goal Coca-Cola HBC will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Continue to have CO2 emission reduction targets as one of the elements in its long-term management incentive plans<\/li>\n<li>Invest \u20ac250 million in emissions reduction initiatives by 2025<\/li>\n<li>Decarbonise further direct operations\u202fby switching to 100% renewable electricity and low carbon energy sources through continuous improvements and innovations in energy efficiency<\/li>\n<li>Accelerate its journey to a more circular, lower carbon packaging approach\u202fby increasing\u202frPET\u202fuse, adopting\u202fpackageless\u202fand refillable options, removing plastics in secondary packaging<\/li>\n<li>Provide energy-efficient and eco-friendly coolers\u202fto customers\u202f<\/li>\n<li>Reduce emissions from agricultural ingredients\u202f<\/li>\n<li>Implement a \u201cGreen Fleet\u201d programme\u202fto switch to low and no carbon alternatives\u202f<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition, Coca-Cola HBC has introduced CO2 emission reduction targets as one of the elements in its long-term management incentive plans.<\/p>\n\t<div class=\"img-with-caption img-with-caption--speaker img-left animate-block animate-block--before\">\n\t\t<div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/new.eba.com.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Coca-Cola-HBC-commits-to-NetZeroby40.jpg\">\n\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n<p><strong>A Strong Track Record <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Coca-Cola HBC was one of the first companies to commit to and deliver science-based targets.\u00a0 In the last decade, the company has halved its direct emissions and the CO2 reduction plan to 2030 is already endorsed and approved on the 1.5 degree pathway.\u00a0 In March 2021, Coca-Cola HBC was\u202frated the\u202fworld\u2019s most sustainable beverage company by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index\u202ffor the 5th time in the last 7 years, achieving its\u202fhighest\u202fever score. It is also ranked among the top sustainability performers in ESG benchmarks such as\u202fCDP, MSCI ESG and FTSE4Good.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Partnership Approach <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe are delighted to work together with our customer Coca-Cola HBC on our mutual 2030 science-based greenhouse gas emission reduction targets and longer-term net zero aspirations.
