The total capacity of biomethane plants, for which entry points to the distribution system are prepared, is about 50 million cubic meters.m of “green” gas per year.<\/p>\n

DSOs operating under the RGC brand in three regions have received proposals and technical parameters from the Bioenergy Association of Ukraine (UABIO) for connecting four biomethane plants to gas distribution networks.<\/p>\n

“Access to the gas distribution system will allow biomethane industries to fully realize their potential. Our task is to ensure effective quality control of “green” gas and a mechanism for guaranteed gas supply in the event of theoretically possible interruptions in the supply of biomethane. The innovations will not affect consumers in any way”,<\/em> said Stanislav Kazda, head of the Strategic Development Department of RGC<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the Vinnytsia region, the DSO is preparing to connect two biomethane projects with a total capacity of about 20 million cubic meters to the networks of gas per year. In Khmelnytskyi and Chernihiv regions, this figure is about 30 million cubic meters – for two biomethane producers.<\/p>\n

“Ukraine’s biomethane potential is up to 8 billion cubic meters per year. We need to prepare for the increasing pace of connecting such projects to gas networks. There will be several dozen large biomethane producers in each region who need access to the pipe”,<\/em> said Georgy Geletyukha, Head of UABIO<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

RGC and UABIO have been cooperating under the signed Memorandum since May 2021. The collaboration is aimed at developing the use of synthetic gases and developing technologies within the framework of the European Green Deal for integration with European markets.<\/p>\n

RGC has been implementing a hydrogen project since August 2020 \u2013 a study of the operation of gas networks with hydrogen and its mixtures at five special fields in cooperation with a scientific consortium that includes Institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and state universities. In October 2020, the RGC joined the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance, which operates under the auspices of the European Commission.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
