According to the results of the tender, the national joint-stock company Naftogaz has placed critical services in the infrastructure of the cloud operator GigaCloud. This allowed the state-owned company to ensure the reliable operation of information resources.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the January 2021 tender, GigaCloud offered the best conditions among all participants. The Cloud Operator has committed to provide \u201cCloud Computing Infrastructure\u201d, \u201cServer Equipment Deployment\u201d, and \u201cBackup and Restore services\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today GigaCloud provides Naftogaz with a private virtual cloud service ProCloud. It is a physically isolated virtual infrastructure that is provided to the customer for exclusive use and has the highest level of availability and security.<\/span><\/p>\n

“GigaCloud’s private ProCloud cloud is an ideal solution for technology companies with complex infrastructure schemes,”<\/em> says Kyrylo Naumenko, CTO of GigaCloud<\/strong>. – It provides the necessary level of information protection requirements, which is very important for companies with critical infrastructure. The customer’s equipment is installed on a shielded rack in a separate room, isolated from other users. The proper level of the information security by GigaCloud is also confirmed by ISO 27001, PCI DSS and KSZI certificates – the latter is mandatory for Ukrainian government agencies that work with critical data and data with limited access.”<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Right now the work is underway to move the customer’s physical and virtual servers to the GigaCloud cloud. According to the IT specialists of Naftogaz of Ukraine, the operator’s employees provide technical support for the most comfortable and failproof cloud transfer process throughout the migration process. The migration is scheduled to be completed within the next month.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The usage of cloud technologies for us is one of the basic principles of IT strategy,”<\/em> says Maryna Kvashnina, IT Director of Naftogaz Ukrainy<\/strong>. – In the conditions of constant strengthening of business systems\u2019 requirements to computing capacities the obsolete equipment which has already exhausted the ability to modernization, cannot satisfy these requirements. In addition, most of the components for this equipment have already been taken out of production, which makes it difficult to purchase spare parts for maintenance. Therefore, the use of clouds, both private and public, is one of the most acceptable solutions for the Group’s companies.”<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

“Cloud services in comparison with the traditional IT-system built on its own equipment, give the business several additional advantages,”<\/em> adds the Head of IT department of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine Alexander Baranchuk<\/strong>. It is an opportunity to increase the computing power for their own systems and increase the flexibility of their distribution between the components of the IT infrastructure, reduce the risks associated with the failure of obsolete server and communication equipment and increase the continuity of IT services.”<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
