Kyiv, Ukraine, 24\u00a0September 2020 <\/strong>\u2014 The Kyiv office of Baker McKenzie maintains cooperation with the Law Department of the National University Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and contributes to the practice-oriented educational process. The lawyers of Baker McKenzie have commenced two courses for students of the Master’s Degree Program.<\/p>\n

In particular, for the second consecutive year\u00a0Baker McKenzie has started a guest course within the Master’s Degree Program on Commercial Law for the Law Department of the National University Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. As part of the course, the lawyers of the Kyiv office will teach three disciplines \u2014 compliance, labor, and procedural law, which form part of a course of lectures and seminars on the practical aspects of business law. The course will comprise eight lectures and six seminars and will run from September to November. The Baker McKenzie teaching staff this semester includes Counsel Mariana Marchuk<\/strong>, Senior Associate Kseniia Pogruzhalska<\/strong> and Associate Anna Stepanowa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In addition, the Corporate M&A Partner Olha Demianiuk<\/strong> has begun an elective course on M&A deals according to the Ukrainian legislation\u00a0for the students in the second year Master’s Degree Program of the Law Department. The course will cover practical aspects of M&A deals and establishment of joint ventures. It will include eight lectures and seven seminars and will run from September to November.<\/p>\n

Serhiy Chorny<\/strong>, Managing Partner of the Baker McKenzie Kyiv office, said: “For the 28 years of the operation of our office on Ukraine’s legal market, our lawyers have gained a great deal of practical knowledge and are glad to share it with the young generation of lawyers. We prepare our courses in a way to fill in the possible gaps in the practical knowledge of lawyers. We believe that teaching is yet another kind of our corporate social responsibility.”<\/p>\n

The Baker McKenzie Kyiv office’s collaboration with the National University Kyiv-Mohyla Academy has a long history and includes, apart from educational events, financial support for the publication of the Kyiv-Mohyla Law & Politics Journal.<\/p>\n
