This may give them a chance to &#8220;insure&#8221; their critical services from collapse and keep the business from going under. On September 9, <\/span><b>GigaCloud CEO Artem Kokhanevich<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> spoke about this at the round table entitled \u201cNo connection lost. Clouds in the age of pandemics and upheavals &#8211; salvation or the new problems. Experience of the other countries&#8221;, at the annual Forum BIT Belarus. Due to the pandemic and the political events in the country, this year the event is held online<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>\u201cThe term \u201ccloud infrastructure\u201d is multitasking. It is often associated only with the waiver of your own equipment, but the cloud does not have to be a replacement. It can be used as a backup site, which is located in another country, and in case of an emergency it allows you to save data and continue working without downtime. At the same time, the backup data processing center (DPC) can quickly turn into the main one if the company decides to relocate the office physically\u201d,<\/em> &#8211; says Artem Kokhanevich.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the round table, the experts focused on discussing two main issues: were there any burden on the data center networks during the quarantine period and how cloud technologies helped businesses adapt to work in the new reality.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Artem Kokhanevich emphasized that the cloud market of Ukraine and Belarus is noticeably different. While in Belarus cloud servers are used mainly by small and medium-sized businesses to host websites and online stores, the Ukrainian companies are moving critical services to the cloud: 1C, CRM and so on. These services cannot be canceled under any circumstances. In the first months of quarantine, companies did not launch new projects because they did not understand what to expect. Subsequently, they adapted and returned to the projects that had been planned the previous year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>\u201cThe companies are increasingly turning to us with the request to build virtual desktops (VDI). At the beginning of the quarantine everyone hoped that work in a remote format would not last long, nowadays businessmen think in other terms. They are thinking about the need to build an IT infrastructure in a new way\u201d,<\/em> &#8211; noted Artem Kokhanevich.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The forum \u201cBIT\u201d is the \u21161 event on the Belarusian infocommunications market.
