Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm has initiated a safeguard investigation into syringe imports to Ukraine regardless of the country of origin or export, protecting the interests of all Ukrainian syringe manufacturers, including Hemoplast PJSC.<\/p>\n
The decision to launch a safeguard investigation was made by the Interdepartmental International Trade Commission on 2 December 2019 following the review of the Request prepared by the International Trade Practice team<\/u> of Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm under the leadership of Partner Olena Omelchenko<\/u> on behalf of the Ukrainian national producer.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt the moment we are actively participated in the investigation conducted by the Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine, proving a serious injury to the domestic industry from the growing imports,<\/em> \u2013 said Olena Omelchenko<\/strong>, the Partner and Head of International Trade Practice at Ilyashev & Partners. \u2013 We will provide all the information required to protect both the national producers and the consumers\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n Depending upon the investigation outcome Ukraine may apply a safeguard duty or set a quota for the import of goods into Ukraine to prevent or eliminate the serious injury to its economy. The safeguard investigation will take from 9 to 12 months.<\/p>\n Hemoplast PJSC is a Ukrainian manufacturer of medical products. The disposable syringes and devices for blood and solution transfusion are the main products manufactured by the factory. In addition, it produces the catheters, probes, medical and laboratory products, as well as hundreds of non-medical plastic goods.
