Business has emphasized its importance many times.<\/p>\n<p>It envisages the introduction of a hierarchy of waste management and increased producer responsibility. The document also proposes a significant increase in fines for offenses in the field of waste management, for example, for their uncontrolled incineration.<\/p>\n<p>It should also be noted that increased producer responsibility\u00a0(IPR) will help to transfer part of the financial burden of waste disposal from municipalities and citizens to producers. In addition, this should reduce government spending on waste management. The impact on the cost of products will be minimal, as the manufacturer is interested in the efficiency of the IPR system.<\/p>\n\t<div class=\"blockquote-custom-big animate-block animate-block--before animate-block--to-right\">\n\n\t\t<div class=\"quote-header\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/new.eba.com.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Oksana_Zharkova.jpg\">\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"name\">Oksana Zharkova<\/span>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"position\">the Committees Coordinator of the European Business Association<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<blockquote class=\"blockquote-custom\">\n\t\t\t\tThe number of unofficial landfills in the country is five times higher than the number of official ones. Only 4% of waste is sorted, the rest is just taken to the landfill. Reform of this sphere started three years ago and this bill is an important step in the regulation of waste issues. The business community welcomes the efforts of the Ministry of Environmental Protection aimed at resolving the issue of waste management and creating the appropriate regulatory framework. Representatives of the Association are currently analyzing the final text of the document, since they have been working on the proposals, which have been taken into account by the developers during discussions. So, we hope to see these provisions in the registered bill.\n\t\t\t<\/blockquote>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t<\/div>\n\n<p>This bill is a framework. Therefore, it is planned to adopt nine other sectoral laws in the field of waste management, which are currently being developed in the Ministry of Environmental Protection. For example, they relate to packaging waste, batteries, hazardous waste, etc. Business is actively involved in working on these documents.<\/p>\n<p>Effective waste management becomes a more and more pressing issue every year. So, it is important to adopt at least a framework document this year.
