There are no obstacles to the full implementation of daily balancing in the natural gas market and, as previously planned, the reform should be implemented on March 1, 2019. This was reported by a member of the Board of JSC “Ukrtransgas” Tatyana Fedorova at a meeting with representatives of the member companies of the European Business Association in Lviv region last week.<\/p>\n\t

\n\t\t\t\tThis has been the third delay in launching the platform. Previously, the system of daily balancing was supposed to become operational on October 1, 2018, but the NKREKP postponed the date to December 1, and then to March 1. Hopefully, this time the launch will occur on time and in compliance with all legislative requirements. This will simplify the procedure for buying natural gas, eliminate the financial burden on market players and introduce new modern trading instruments.\n\t\t\t<\/blockquote>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t<\/div>\n\n

The transition to daily balancing will make the market more transparent and open as the electronic platform replaces the old methods of presenting information \u2013 in hard copy<\/strong>.\u00a0 However, the introduction of daily balancing is important from the point of view of cooperation with related European operators, who, in accordance with the requirements of EU legislation, balance the system daily, and in some cases even hourly.\u00a0 In addition, the consumer will have the opportunity to view information about the supplier, their absence\/presence in the\u00a0disconnection registers, the volume of gas consumed given by their operator RM, actual consumption data, etc.<\/p>\n

The EBA Fuel and Energy Committee noted that Ukraine, as a member state of the European Energy Community, has committed itself to liberalizing the natural gas market, which includes equal access to trunking networks, transparent and competitive business conditions for all natural gas market participants and introduction of daily balancing.\u00a0 In addition, free market pricing in the natural gas market should be ensured in all its segments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
