“Exports are not made in Kiev, exports are made in the regions”,<\/em> – Ms Natalia Mykolska<\/strong>, Trade representative – Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, started her at the Export Day in Dnipro.<\/p>\n

According to the State Statistics Department, the Dnipropetrovsk region ranks 2nd in terms of export volume after Kyiv with a total share of 17.2%, and this indicator has the opportunity to increase in several times. Unfortunately, not all potential exporters have enough information about the opportunities and preferences that Ukraine has, as regions are slowly distributing news about the state’s initiatives in export. The creation of the Export Promotion Office, the Export Credit Agency, the Free Trade Agreement with Canada, Israel, Turkey and Macedonia, the negotiations on the use of PanEuroMed with Georgia – this is far from the full list of potential opportunities for the Ukrainian manufacturer, which the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade is working on.<\/p>\n

The meeting was held in a rather lively discussion. Following the report by Mrs. Mykolska, companies had the opportunity to listen to the pre-drawn list of key export issues and to add their suggestions and comments, if any. Further, the Intergovernmental Council on Export will be able to consider these issues and create a roadmap to overcome them.
