For the first time, business community met the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. European Business Association members took a chance to talk face-to-face with Minister Arsen Avakov and his Deputy Tetyana Kovalchuk.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, key attention was paid to the issues of security and law enforcement agencies credibility in Ukraine, opportunities for the cooperation of businesses and the Ministry in order to prevent economic crimes, to combat cybercrime, to ensure the security of logistics transportations and protect intellectual property rights.<\/p>\n

We were pleased to hear the Minister’s position regarding initiatives that should eliminate the pressure on business, namely, his conviction that only analytical structures should deal with the investigation of economic crimes. Consequently, from the perspective of both the Minister and business community, the new service – National Bureau of Financial Security – has to take on the relevant functions of the security forces.<\/p>\n
