{"id":769791,"date":"2018-03-13T11:28:05","date_gmt":"2018-03-13T09:28:05","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2018-03-13T11:28:05","modified_gmt":"2018-03-13T09:28:05","slug":"oshhadbank-najbilshyj-universalnyj-bank-krayiny","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.eba.com.ua\/en\/oshhadbank-najbilshyj-universalnyj-bank-krayiny\/","title":{"rendered":"Oschadbank is the largest country\u2019s universal bank!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved Oschadbank\u2019s Development Strategy for YY2018-2022<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As per the new Development Strategy approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on February 21, 2018, Oschadbank \u00a0\u00a0will become\u00a0 a universal bank with leadership positions \u00a0in servicing all customer groups with an optimized branch network, modern information technologies \u00a0as well as a \u00a0new operating model and effective risk management in 2022. This was discussed at the press conference with the participation of <strong>Oleksandr Danyliuk<\/strong>, Minister of Finance of Ukraine, <strong>Andriy Pyshnyy<\/strong>, Chairman of the Management Board of Oschadbank, \u00a0\u00a0<strong>Sevki Acuner<\/strong>, \u00a0\u00a0EBRD Director\u00a0in Ukraine and <strong>Roman <\/strong><strong>Hreba<\/strong>, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Oschadbank, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine. The Strategy envisages the completion of the state bank transformation \u00a0\u00a0and the maintenance of leadership in the banking sector for the next 5 years. The document was supported by \u00a0\u00a0Oschadbank\u2019s \u00a0strategic partner &#8211; the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.<\/p>\n<p>Oschadbank\u2019s \u00a0 Development Strategy\u00a0 is\u00a0 an integral part of the overall development strategy for the\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 state banking sector. It involves reducing the share of state-owned banks through their partial or full privatization. This will increase the market competition, ensure financial stability and banking services availability. Corporate governance improvement by way of independent supervisory boards establishment \u00a0is being one of the important \u00a0changes.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike other state-owned banks \u00a0only Oschadbank remains the largest universal bank that will be present in all customer segments.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Corporate business.<\/strong> Oschadbank will retain its leadership positions \u00a0in servicing \u00a0\u00a0large business \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0having \u00a0the \u00a0significant expertise and established business relationships with large corporations. The Bank plans to hold a market share: in terms of loans &#8211; 18%, in terms of deposits &#8211; 11%.<\/li>\n<li><strong>MSMB. <\/strong>In servicing of \u00a0micro, small and medium-sized businesses \u00a0Oschadbank intends \u00a0to increase its market share by improving the service model. The market share\u00a0 plan under the\u00a0 loans to MSMB\u00a0 for the year 2022 &#8211; 10%, under the \u00a0deposits and current accounts &#8211; 20%.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Retail business.<\/strong> For the last three years Oschadbank maintained its leadership in the retail \u00a0growth dynamics. In view of this, it is planned to triple the market share in the retail lending \u00a0to 13% by means of mortgages, car loans, credit cards and consumer loans. The Bank plans to maintain a market share of 19% in terms of attracting deposits and current accounts. Retail branch network modernization will remain \u00a0the Bank\u2019s priority: opening of new ones and reducing the number of old inefficient branches. At the same time, Oschadbank will remain a pacemaker in \u00a0presence nationwide and will continue to support its clients where it is the only channel for financial services providing. Also, the Bank plans to continue development in the premium segment by expanding the list of services and locations to serve wealthy clients. Oschadbank\u2019s \u00a0share \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0in the card business should increase from 6% to 17%. Considerable attention will be paid to the innovative technologies development in online banking.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Support functions centralization \u00a0and business processes improvement are being among the key components of the \u00a0strategy on \u00a0IT infrastructure \u00a0enhancement and information security \u00a0update. Persistent efforts will be \u00a0continued over the \u00a0non-performing loans. The Bank has made all necessary conclusions regarding the risk assessment that led to the inherited non-performing portfolio and has \u00a0already implemented them in the credit and risk policies. For the last three years Oschadbank has \u00a0learned not only to do business with the \u00a0NPL \u00a0but \u00a0has also became a real market benchmark in this regard, having \u00a0received in its favor the\u00a0 court decisions for the amount \u00a0over 40 billion UAH.<\/p>\n<p>The Development Strategy has been \u00a0broken down into step-by-step action plan with well-defined performance indicators. The final \u00a0outcome \u00a0of the strategy implementation\u00a0 should\u00a0 be Oschadbank\u2019s value maximization \u00a0\u00a0and its partial privatization with the participation of a reputable international investor.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00ab<\/em><em>Oschadbank turns \u00a0a new page of its history. The first part of the strategic development plan, namely the modernization of the country&#8217;s largest and oldest bank has been successfully implemented. <\/em><em>Leadership<\/em><em> \u00a0strategy<\/em><em> implementation is next in turn. We <\/em><em>have been consistent in buil<\/em><em>ding of \u00a0the largest universal bank of the country. The new strategy confirms the success of <\/em><em>\u00a0Oschadbank\u2019s transformation <\/em><em>since 2014 and identifies<\/em><em> the clear <\/em><em>further road signs.<\/em><em> \u00a0The support of the chosen strategy by the <\/em><em>Bank\u2019s \u00a0shareholder<\/em><em> &#8211; Government of Ukraine<\/em><em>, and the EBRD <\/em><em>&#8211; the strategic partner \u2013 is<\/em> <em>being an \u00a0evidence of their confidence <\/em><em>in Bank\u2019s professional new-look\u00a0 team to realistically achieve\u00a0 the ambitious development indicators fixed in the Strategy&#8221;, &#8211; <\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em>said <strong>Andriy Pyshny<\/strong><strong>y, \u00a0<\/strong><strong>Chairman of the <\/strong><strong>Management Board of Oschadbank.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00abThe <\/em><em>Strategy for the State Banking Sector Development\u00a0 approved \u00a0by the <\/em><em>Government provides for Oschadbank<\/em><em>\u2019s privatization <\/em><em>\u00a0with the participation of international financial institutions. \u00a0<\/em><em>\u00a0A year and a half ago<\/em><em> a <\/em><em>Memorandum on cooperation in operational and managerial processes improv<\/em><em>ement as well as\u00a0 the \u00a0<\/em><em>Bank&#8217;s value increas<\/em><em>e \u00a0was signed between the Ministry of Finance, the EBRD and Oschadbank. We <\/em><em>should give notice that Oschadbank\u2019<\/em><em>s team is persistently working <\/em><em>\u00a0on \u00a0this vision implement<\/em><em>ation. I am sure that further joint work of the EBRD, the Ministry of Finance and <\/em><em>\u00a0Oschadbank \u00a0will create the basis for successful sale of the <\/em><em>Bank and return of the state-funded money&#8221;,<\/em> &#8211;\u00a0 <strong>Oleksandr Danyliuk, <\/strong><strong>\u00a0Minister of Finance of Ukraine<\/strong> stated \u00a0at a press conference.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00abWe <\/em><em>have heard a clear statement of <\/em><em>Oschadbank\u2019s \u00a0development strategy <\/em><em>\u00a0\u00a0from its management. We are especially <\/em><em>happy \u00a0that the <\/em><em>Bank defines this as its goal for the future, as a contribution to the development of the Ukrainian economy. <\/em><em>For today we can already see\u00a0 some progress in\u00a0 this direction. <\/em><em>Particularly with regard to <\/em><em>\u00a0small and medium-sized busines<\/em><em>ses support. The <\/em><em>Strategy\u2019s \u00a0specific <\/em><em>\u00a0goals \u00a0fulfillment <\/em><em>\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><em>\u00a0finds itself critical to the prospects of the state banks <\/em><em>in terms of \u00a0cooperation with international financial institutions. I am very glad that we are deepening<\/em><em> the cooperation and approaching <\/em><em>to the implementation of our <\/em><em>Memorandum provisions, namely, partial participation in the capital of Oschadbank,<\/em><em>\u201d-<\/em> \u00a0said \u00a0<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Sevki Acuner<\/strong>, \u00a0\u00a0EBRD Director \u00a0\u00a0in \u00a0Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00abOver the course of time since 2014 Oschadbank \u00a0has changed completely. \u00a0The savings bank has \u00a0turned into a modern innovation bank. This goes to prove \u00a0that Oschadbank\u2019s\u00a0 \u00a0management \u00a0can set itself a task and can fulfill it. The members of the Supervisory Board congratulate the Bank&#8217;s new Development Strategy, including as it relates to new approach to corporate governance.
