Requirements:

  • Higher education in management, public/business administration, NGO management, economics, social sciences, international development, or related fields.
  • At least 3–5 years of experience in project management within the civil society or international sector.
  • Practical experience in implementing donor-funded projects(Sida, EU, UN, or other institutional donors is a strong advantage).
  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience with the full project management cycle, including needs assessment, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
  • Experience working with civil society organisations, particularly within advocacy, social projects, or organisational capacity-building initiatives.
  • Knowledge of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, international human rights standards (including gender-sensitive approaches), legislation regulating civil society organisations, and civic participation mechanisms.
  • Understanding of the challenges related to the reintegration of children and families returning to Ukraine, including psychosocial, educational, legal, and security aspects.
  • Ability to work with large volumes of information, analyse data, and prepare structured narrative reports.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate, motivate, and support multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and analytical skills; strong negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines and increased workload.
  • Willingness to travel within Ukraine and internationally.
  • Fluency in Ukrainian and proven English proficiency at B2/C1 level or higher.
  • Confident user of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and online communication tools (MS Teams, Zoom, etc.).
  • Commitment to the mission and values of SOS Children’s Villages, adherence to child safeguarding principles and international humanitarian standards.

Responsibiities:

  • Implementing the project in accordance with the grant agreement, donor (Sida) requirements, and policies of SOS Children’s Villages Ukraine.
  • Planning, coordinating, and monitoring project activities in Kyiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Mykolaiv, and Poltava regions.
  • Monitoring achievement of project goals, outcomes, and outputs in line with the approved work plan and logical framework.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective cooperation with key stakeholders, including civil society organisations, communities, partner networks, and public authorities.
  • Advocating for the implementation of recommendations and methodologies developed by the project at national, regional, and local levels.
  • Ensuring effective communication among all project stakeholders.
  • Organising and coordinating the work of trainers, experts, consultants, and other contracted service providers.
  • Managing the selection process of non-governmental organisations for sub-grants, as well as monitoring and supporting them during sub-grant implementation.
  • Actively participating in recruitment processes and managing the project team, providing leadership, support, and supervision.
  • Coordinating monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) processes, including regular monitoring, mid-term, and final project evaluations.
  • Ensuring regular financial coordination of the project in close cooperation with the Project Finance Manager, monitoring budget compliance and providing explanations for deviations.
  • Participating in procurement and tender procedures in accordance with organisational policies.
  • Preparing narrative reports, presentations, updates, and other materials for the donor, management, and partners.
  • Representing the project at working meetings, events, and coordination platforms.
  • Integrating child safeguardinggender sensitivity, and conflict sensitivity approaches into all project activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with SOS Children’s Villages Ukraine policies, procedures, and international humanitarian standards.
  • Informing the project team about security recommendations in line with organisational policies.
