On 20 January, the first meeting of the Scientific and Expert Council on the registration of pesticides and agrochemicals under the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine took place. As a result of the meeting, around 120 products were approved for use on the Ukrainian crop protection market.

This is an extremely important development for the agricultural sector, as the timely registration of crop protection products is a key prerequisite for conducting a high-quality and effective sowing campaign. It enables agricultural producers to gain advance access to modern and efficient solutions for crop protection.

Less than six months after the reorganisation, the Ministry’s team has managed to relaunch all key regulatory processes in the crop protection market. The registration of new products is a successful outcome of this work and an important signal to businesses regarding the stabilisation of the regulatory environment.

The Agrochemical Committee of the European Business Association expresses its gratitude to the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine and all involved experts for their systematic efforts. The Committee also hopes that meetings of the Scientific and Expert Council will continue to be held on a regular basis.
