Consumer Electronics

18/ 08/ 2025
  The European Business Association welcomes the adoption of Resolution No. 976 by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 13 August 2025, titled On Amendments to the Plan for the Allocation and Use of the Radio Frequency Spectrum, which opens up the 5945–6425 MHz band for the use of Wi-Fi 6E technology. The ЕВА’s Consumer Electronics Committee has repeatedly drawn the attention of the authorities to the need for implementing this technology, as: most modern devices (routers, laptops, smartphones, TVs, etc.) are already manufactured with Wi-Fi 6E support but could not be certified in Ukraine without the necessary amendments to the Plan; the lack of authorisation limited the supply of new equipment and deprived consumers of access to up-to-date digital solutions; Wi-Fi 6E has been in use for several years across the EU and most countries worldwide, while Ukraine remained one of the few without the technology in place. The adoption of these amendments allows for regulatory harmonisation with the EU and enables the import of modern devices without disabling their ability to use Wi-Fi 6E radio technology. The European Business Association expresses its gratitude to the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the National Commission for the State Regulation of Electronic Communications, and other relevant authorities for considering the business community’s position and maintaining a constructive dialogue.

  • the lack of authorisation limited the supply of new equipment and deprived consumers of access to up-to-date digital solutions;

  • Wi-Fi 6E has been in use for several years across the EU and most countries worldwide, while Ukraine remained one of the few without the technology in place.
