EBA welcomes new government steps in forest management and timber export

Listen to online Stop   Member companies of the European Business Association’s Woodworking and Furniture Committee support the Government’s newly adopted decisions aimed at the efficient use of forest resources and the promotion of timber product exports. Under Government Resolution No. 1552 of 28 November 2025, a pilot project has been approved to regulate the operation of the exporter’s electronic cabinet within the Unified State Electronic Timber Accounting System. This will ensure stable and uninterrupted export–import operations for finished wood-processing products abroad. Government Resolution No. 1551 of 28 November 2025 extends the validity of forest management materials. As a result, materials whose term of validity has expired will continue to remain in force for a defined period. By Government Order No. 1356-r of 28 November 2025, the operational action plan for implementing Ukraine’s State Forest Management Strategy until 2035 for the years 2025–2027 has been approved. Experts of the ЕВА took part in discussions and provided proposals on developing the country’s wood-processing potential, ensuring sufficient harvesting volumes, and revising state policy to increase available timber volumes. The ЕВА supports stable imports of finished products, given the export-oriented nature of Ukraine’s wood-processing industry.
