14/ 06/ 2017
European Business Association was happy to meet Hugues Mingarelli, Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, and discuss new possibilities for Ukrainians due to the introduction of a visa-free regime. We spent nine years to get visa-free regime with about 144 conditions that Ukrainian Government had to fulfil. Mr. Mingarelli and his colleagues told more about the peculiarities of this regime and answered common questions about the border cross and further integration prospects of Ukraine. Ambassador explained that visa-free regime could be suspended only in two cases – if there will be massive violations of staying in the EU from or a sharply negative dynamic of fight against corruption in Ukraine. In general, Mr. Mingarelli said that the EU does not not expect any migration risks from the Ukrainian citizens. On the contrary, they hope that much more Ukrainians will visit European countries. In order to explain to Ukrainians rules of traveling to the EU and staying there, the EU Delegation launched a web-site, which provided all the necessary travel information - http://openeurope.in.ua/ We thank Mr. Ambassador and his colleagues for such interesting and informative conversation!
