Dialogue That Works: Meeting of the EBA Western Ukrainian Office with the Management of Lviv Customs

08/ 10/ 2025
Recently, representatives of the Western Ukrainian Office of the European Business Association held a working meeting with the management of Lviv Customs. The discussion focused on current issues related to foreign economic activity of regional companies, effective cooperation between business and customs authorities, and the implementation of European standards in customs procedures. During the discussion, both sides emphasized that the key to effective cooperation lies in prompt communication, advisory support, and a shared commitment to transparent rules of engagement. Special attention was paid to the status of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) and potential simplifications for companies that comply with the highest standards of compliance. As noted by Ivan Kerezvas, Acting Head of Lviv Customs: “Business’s main goal is scaling and job creation. The task of customs authorities is to ensure comfortable conditions for export import operations and to accelerate procedures. Readiness to adapt to EU standards is the key to effective cooperation.” We are grateful to our colleagues at Lviv Customs for their openness to dialogue and their systematic work toward creating a predictable business climate in the region.
